We’re proud to offer a puppy kindergarten program designed exclusively for our Wildflower Havanese puppies and their families by Balance Canine and Garland Grove, who are part of the Wildflower Havanese family. Not only do they understand Havanese puppies, they know your specific puppy's lineage, temperament, and personality traits.
The focus of this program is on teaching you how to communicate effectively with your puppy, building a foundation of mutual trust and understanding that will last a lifetime.
Program Overview
Our program begins before your puppy joins your family, and carries through the crucial period of the first 6 weeks at home, when habits and bonds are forming. By the end of the program, you'll have a puppy who looks to you for guidance, responds to basic commands, and approaches new situations with growing confidence. More importantly, you'll have the skills and understanding to continue nurturing your puppy's development for years to come.
Our program alternates between:
45-60 minute group Zoom sessions of no more than 4 puppies, where we review progress and introduce new concepts (on odd weeks), and
Personal 15-minute check-in calls where you can get your questions answered and ask for advice on your specific situation (on even weeks).
Introductions & Preparation (2 weeks before)
Two weeks before your puppy is ready to go home, we'll connect via Zoom to help you prepare. We’ll cover equipment, feeding, early routines and schedule considerations, along with any questions you have. Our goal is for you to feel prepared for the day your puppy comes home.
Settling In (Weeks 1-2)
During those precious first weeks, we'll guide you through your puppy’s changing routines, beginning basic training, and creating positive associations with new experiences. We'll cover essential foundations like potty training and crate training, helping your puppy feel secure in their new environment.
Building Core Skills (weeks 3-4)
Throughout our sessions, we'll teach you how to introduce and reinforce important commands and skills including touch, watch, sit, down, wait, stay, and walking nicely on a leash. Each skill builds upon the last, reinforcing communication and understanding at every step.
Celebrating Progress (weeks 5-6)
By our final sessions, we’ll show you how to teach your puppy a few fun tricks - not just for entertainment, but to reinforce the joyful relationship you've built with your puppy. We'll celebrate how far you've both come and address any questions or concerns you have about how to continue to build on the foundation we’ve started.

Stay & Play Program
The Wildflower Stay & Play program covers these basics and fulfills the requirement for Puppy Kindergarten.
